Bonjour! The first few days at home I succeeded in running around like a chicken with its head cut off. I got in from Alex's place in MN, bought a wedding present, got dressed and ran out to the wedding last Sat. The wedding was really fun. It was practically a mini high school reunion [in a good way] with all of the people I actually did want to see again. It also made me realize that A. getting maried someday would not be horrible and that B I need to work more on keeping in touch with folks. Luckily, THE LIZ seems to have had the same epiphany on keeping in touch. The morning after the wedding I woke up to my mother anouncing that Kathryn had already arrived. Somehow I had managed to sleep for 10 hours. For some reason I didn't question when Kathryn said "There is a dead cat in my car." I just first ascertained that she had not killed a neighbors cat and then when and where we should hold the services. On her way to my place she had picked up an injured cat by the side of the road. The fuzzy buddy died in transit to an animal hospital. So we proceeded to hold a full funeral service with the Egyptian Book of the Dead. [ I don't usually practice pagan religions, but ancient Egyptians worshiped cats- so it seemed fitting.] According to Kathryn, I am the only person that she knows who can make a kitty funeral fun... still not sure if that was a complement. Day 3 Day 4 Father manages to somehow break my computer. Unable to connect to internet ahhhhhh. |

The fourth of July was great out here. I ran the Silent Auction for the Museum and raised $800. more than the previous year! Our group finished set-up around 10:00am and headed over to the Doughnut shop for a good ole fashioned coffee break. While we were chatting Darryl wandered into the shop. I asked him what he was up to and he replied that he was out walking the dogs. [Daryl is diabetic and can not eat too many sweets.] So whenever he has been telling Mary Kay that he is walking the dogs, he has really been sneaking out for a doughnut. I guess Lynne ran into him that morning to and said hi. Instead of looking behind him [where she was] he started to look up at the sky.

Ok, I can't find my knitting bag anywhere. It's about the size of a small dog and I only take it between my house and the neighbors. I don't know why but I have this knack for loosing stuff. At least its usually just a piece of paper- not a HUGE bag that I use everyday. It's not even like the house is messy... argh. Hopefully loosing stuff is not an indicator of my mental health status.

Yesterday was one of the best holidays of the year- May Day! After months of planning I didn't do much. I belatedly remembered this holiday of holidays while I was visiting with Mary Kay and Daryl. I ran across the street and brought them back a lil ivy plant and scarf that I had knit. Beth chatted with me online today. She is pumped about moving to Denver! I hope she does. It will be hard for both of us, but oh so fun! Kathryn called a mayday in yesterday. Ernie is not doing well and may not be able to take us to Sedona from Phoenix. If push comes to shove, we'll U-Haul ourselves around Arizona. No matter what we are continuing on the epic adventure. |

Well I am currently excelling in procrastinating. I have been at work for oh almost two hours and have added two sentences to the grant that I am working on. Yesterday I was able to finally find a Preservation Consultant for the Lighthouse Restoration Project. When I am motivated... watch out! Hmmm... I am going to visit DU this weekend. I just hope that the weather patterns do not interfere with my schedule. I lucked out and get to hang out in Boulder with Amy on Saturday. Sunday & Monday will be discover DU days.
